Wild Rose Chapter Meeting
November 3, 2010
Bantrel Place - Calgery
6:00 to 7:00 PM
EMA Wild Rose Members
On June 24, 2010 the Wild Rose chapter provided a presentation on a variety of machine tools and their uses in modern production techniques. We also announced the results of the Wild Rose Board election.
During the machining presentation Hans Hiltbrand reviewed the production process from the time the drawings get in the hands of the vendors shop floor, to when the equipment leaves the factory, focussing primarily on the machining process in the vendor’s facility.
On November 3, 2010 Hans will be presenting the follow-up on vendor production focussing on welding. Hans will be presenting some short videos detailing the different steps in the welding fabrication process as well as the different applications of welding used today.
Welding is a fabrication or sculptural process that joins materials, usually metals or thermoplastics, by causing coalescence. This is often done by melting the workpieces and adding a filler material to form a pool of molten material (the weld pool) that cools to become a strong joint, with pressure sometimes used in conjunction with heat, or by itself, to produce the weld.
As usual, Hans will start with a safety moment.
We are certain this presentation will increase your knowledge and will help you to better understand your vendor’s production process. This will give you, the Expeditor, an opportunity to excel in your profession when dealing with fabricated equipment.
The Wild Rose Chapter will be providing a light dinner and drinks (no alcohol) for this event at no cost to the EMA Wild Rose members. The presentation will take place at Bantrel Place in Calgary from 6:00-7:00 pm. Please click here for a map to the Bantrel Place location.
Please RSVP no later than October 25, 2010.
